TeamDynamix Licenses and Roles

TeamDynamix licenses come in three varieties, which are further limited by system role:

  • Enterprise - This is the full TeamDynamix license, covering everything from project managers to TeamDynamix system administrators.
  • Team Member - This is a limited license for project team members (see below), allowing them to update tasks, issues, risks and other project related items. Team members are licensed to use both the main TeamDynamix application as well as the client portal. It is possible for users with a Team Member license to act as project managers, but they will not have access to the full suite of platform capabilities. This license type costs approximately one third of the cost of an Enterprise license.
  • Client - Users with the Client license may not use the main TeamDynamix application, but can still participate in projects through the client portal. Users with this license type are generally project team members with a small number of assignments, or are stakeholders that just need access to information about the project. There is no charge for using the Client license.

Contact NC State University Software Licensing for current pricing information.

Roles in TeamDynamix limit users to a subset of capabilities within a particular license type. Examples include:

  • Executive (Enterprise)
  • Project Manager (Enterprise)
  • Functional Project Manager (Team Member)
  • Project Team Member (Team Member)
  • PPPM Client (Client)

Team Member license holders do not have the ability to:

  • Create or delete projects and project plans (task lists)
  • Create baselines for project plans
  • Delete issues and risks
  • Create shared reports and report folders
  • View reports in the client portal
